I also like the one in Big Trouble in Little China (which, as I've pointed out before, is a party-based dungeon crawl) where on of the kung fu 'gods' literally blows his body up, inflating himself until he pops.
Big Trouble in Little China is a wonderful film, so I agree wholeheartedly.
Carpenter also made Prince of Darkness, which seems to me to be a pretty good Call of Cthulhu film.
Most of his films are good Call of Cthulhu adaptations or fodder. Except maybe Elvis.
